Empowering skills & Sustainability : SMART Skill

Skills play a pivotal role in optimum utilization of human resources. Skilled workforce is an asset and also a prerequisite for sustainable economic development. It is focused on ‘learning and skills for life, work, and sustainable development’ in view of the ongoing build back process. The increasing use of technology and changing dynamics of the labor market are among some compelling reasons that show efforts must be made to equip our youth with employable and entrepreneurial skills so that they don’t only cope with a changing world but also become an active agent of positive changes.

SMART Skill: SMART skill is an acronym that stands for:

(a) Science & Social Science:

Inter Disciplinary Curriculum (Science & Social Science) It aims at instilling 21st Century Learner Skills in children, motivating them to inquire as a means to seeking answers. The effective instructional strategies and pedagogical practices aim to create unique and engaging learning experiences for children. It gives children the opportunity to explore the world they live in with a sense of sustained awe and wonderment that motivates them to inquire. The child-centered strategies provide opportunities to learn through experimentation, investigation, demonstration and application.

(b) Math:

Understanding and analyzing data, graphs, budgeting, scales, equations, algorithms etc.

(c) Analogy:

Understanding and analyzing data, graphs, budgeting, scales, equations, algorithms etc.

(d) Reading & Writing (Languages):

It includes comprehension, understanding and analyzing the prescribed Context.

(e) Technology:

The students learn computer and its applications, word processing programs, social media as well as adapting to the changes in new technology.

3R Learning: Reasoning, Resilience & Responsibilty

At SPPS, the focus is majorly on three learning concepts of Reasoning, Resilience & Responsibility.

  • Reasoning helps the students to unfold their thinking skills.

 

  • Resilience involves self-efficacy that empowers the students to believe in their ability to achieve.

 

  • Responsibility develops ethical and moral dimensions in students.
