What does SPPS stand for?

SPPS stands for Sant Pranpal Singh Ji. This school is co-educational, English medium, highly progressive school.

Which board is the SPPS Convent School affiliated to?

We are a CBSE affiliated group of schools.

What is the admission process?

The parents would have to register the child (online / in the school office) for the age-appropriate class and submit documents accordingly. On completion of the registration process, parents will be invited for an interaction with the Principal. Admission will be confirmed on the payment of the fees.

Does the school provide transport?

Yes, SPPS Convent School provides transport for all routes.

What are the charges of school transport and uniform cost as well?

Uniforms, books & transport would be charged on actual. Fees to be paid additionally.

Is there an entrance exam for seeking admission?

Primary School up to Grade V: No written tests are required for primary till Vth Grade. Here, the admission can be confirmed after an interaction with the Principal.

Senior School: Admission to senior classes can be attained after the child attempts the entrance tests for two subjects, i.e.–English and Mathematics.

Are teachers hired by SPPS trained and qualified for the job?

Yes. SPPS Convent School appoints experienced, professionally qualified, passionate and caring teachers. Once appointed, they are further trained and oriented before getting inducted into the system. Regular in-service training is arranged for all faculty. In-service training too is an integral part of our approach and 75 hrs in a year are set aside for Professional Development of Teachers.

What is the fee payment schedule and mode of payment?

At the time of admission along with the admission fee, first quarter fee is also charged. Fee for the remaining three quarters is payable as follows:

  • SECOND QUARTER (JULY-SEPTEMBER): July 1 to July 10
  • THIRD QUARTER (OCTOBER- DECEMBER): October 1 to October 10
  • FOURTH QUARTER (JANUARY – MARCH): January 1 to January 10
  • MODE OF PAYMENT: Online through School APP or CASH

Does the school conduct any outbound trips?

The School organize excursions and educational trips for the students. Some of them are optional others may be compulsory.

What is the student teacher ratio?

The basis of quality at SPPS Convent School is the comfortable teacher student ratio. The student strength section wise:

  • Early years – 1:25
  • Grades 1 & II – 1:25
  • Grades III to V – 1:25
  • Grades VI to XII – 1:30
  • With the activity teachers/ class associates and the specialized coaches the ratio falls in 1:10 to 1:15

How often the parents get connected to the teachers?

Regular Parent Educator Colloquium (PEC) are conducted on alternate months to discuss the progress of students with their parents. In case a parent wishes to interact with the teacher, he/she may seek an appointment and do so.

What is expected from me as a parent of the school?

As a parent of SPPS, you are expected to identify with the school’s philosophy that centres around the holistic development of its students. Regular Parent Orientation and awareness sessions are hosted so that the parent and the school foster a healthy long term relationship. You are requested to attend all school events like the PEC, Theme Assemblies, Events and Special Celebrations. With a rich pool of knowledge experts available with us in the form of our parents, we encourage our parents to share their knowledge and resources with the student community.

What are the security measures taken by the school in bus and in school premises?

  • The entire school premise is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance.
  • The live videos are monitored in the surveillance room, Principal’s room and the Managing Director’s room.
  • All our buses too have functional from and back cameras.
  • Junior and Senior school floors are separate and monitored as well.
  • Only female housekeeping staff is employed inside the school building. Peons are only for office work/pantry.
  • The early years students are assisted by nannies in their movement.
  • All washrooms are manned by nannies.
  • Entry of drivers and conductors inside the school building is prohibited.
  • Visitors’ entry into the school premises is only after filling of the Visitor’s Log. Wearing of Visitor I-Card is mandatory. Vendors are allowed in school only after school hours
  • The school infirmary has a qualified doctor and a nurse on board and has been ably handling medical issues / emergencies .
  • All required NOCs are well in place and reviewed timely.
  • Safety sessions are conducted for children to guide them well about the importance of forming a queue while boarding a bus and how to embark and disembark.
  • Transport is equipped with all the safety equipment like fire extinguishers, first aid box, lockable windows, GPS and doors.
  • A nanny, a teacher and a bus attendant accompanies the students in the bus on to and fro trips.
  • Regular cleaning and disinfecting of the buses is done to maintain good hygienic conditions at all times.
  • Centralised internal audits are a regular feature.

  • All entries inside the school premises are scanned.
  • Once inside, the entrant is requested to sanitize their hands.
  • Sanitizers available in floors/corridors are a constant reminder too.
  • All standard SOPs are being strictly monitored and followed by the school.
  • The school doctor along with all teachers are vigilant and students showing any sign of fever are sent home/isolated immediately.
  • Constant reminders of using sanitizers, wearing masks, maintaining a safe distance, not sharing personal items/food are being given by all teachers.

What is the school’s assessment scheme?

The school does not follow a formal assessment scheme for students of Foundational Classes till Grade II. However, regular formative assessments ensure student evaluation and help monitor progress. Gap areas are identified and corrective measures taken. Scheduled and calendarized tests for students are conducted from Grade III -V . Grade VI onwards school follows the CBSE assessment scheme.

What is the approach to education at SPPS Convent School?
